Dr. Zhang received her medical degree in Clinical Medicine, Beijing Capital Medical University, MSc. in Molecular Neurobiology, at Center for Neural Regeneration and Repair, Beijing Institute of Neuroscience, and her Ph.D. in Biology/Neuroscience at Wesleyan University, Middletown, Connecticut, USA.   Zhang’s Research expertise include: 1) The impact of early life experience (such as head trauma, infection) on the neurological, behavioral, cognitive outcomes later in life; 2). Neuroinflammation, ER stress and metabolic dysregulation after pediatric traumatic brain injury; 3). The efficacy of nanotechnology guided drug therapies, such as anti-inflammatory drug conjugates, on the long-term survival and cognitive improvement after pediatric brain injuries (e.g. traumatic brain injury).
